Patient Safety & Infection Control Protocols
Dentistry has always had a focus on infection control and has long since had strict guidelines for keeping both the office environment and tools sterile in order to prevent disease transmission. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, these measures have become even stricter. At Lanie Family Dentistry, our infection control procedures surpass those set by the CDC, the American Dental Association, and the Indiana Dental Association.
Some of our additional safety measures include:
- Teledentistry is available for assessment, recommendations for pain relief, and supervision of ongoing treatment.
- The number of patients in the waiting room will be limited in order to allow for safe social distancing.
- Magazines, brochures, and toys are no longer available. Coffee will no longer be self-serve (available upon request).
- We ask patients not to bring guests unless needed for extra assistance.
- Surfaces will be disinfected by our team hourly.
- Plexiglass barriers have been installed at our front desk.
- HEPA air purifiers have been installed in the office.
- All operatories now have vinyl flooring
- Hand sanitizer has been made available for patients.
- We have a high-velocity evacuation device to remove aerosols during treatments.
- More dental procedures will be using tools such as sector or rubber dams for additional safety.
- Treatment rooms have been rearranged to better contain aerosols.
